Spirituality, Psychedelics, & the Creative Process: An Evening with Marlene Dobkin de Rios
A multi-media presentation influenced by the groundbreaking work of the late Oscar Janiger. Marlene Dobkin de Rios, a medical anthropologist , has studied the use of hallucinogens in tribal and third world societies. She will be examining the nature of the creative process, as influenced by psychedelics. The presentation will focus on the work explored in her book LSD, Spirituality, and the Creative Process, which she co-authored with Dr. Oscar Janiger. The late Dr. Janiger engaged in one of the most extensive studies of the effects of LSD on human subjects. He is a pioneer in the area of cosciousness studies. Dr. de Rios will be discussing his work and its impact on our understanding of human consciousness.
