- Laptop music is basically the electronic equivalent of indierock. People, typically in small groups of 1-3, compose and create their musical works almost entirely on their ~PowerBooks. Sometimes some other small pieces of equipment will make a show, but it's typically very minimal. I like the independent, out of the garage feeling and I've met some really nice people. I've also been very impressed that almost half the acts I've caught have been women. Maybe laptops are less intimidating than a rack of components. I was blessed to be in SF since its one of the best scenes in the world for this kind of music.
