From Matt Chisholm, how to view HTML inline in Mutt:

set html/plain viewer to html2text in ~/.mailcap and set auto-view to html

.muttrc:
set mailcap_path=~/.mailcap:/usr/local/etc/mailcap:/etc/mailcap
auto_view text/html

.mailcap:
text/html; /usr/bin/html2text '%s'; copiousoutput; description=HTML Text
