- SF is home to Hiroko and Koichi Tamano - they are 2 of the first butoh students of Tatsumi Hijikata - butoh creator. They run the Country Station (a funky sushi place in the Mission) - they have a troupe called Harupin-Ha. Alot of their dancers and students work at the restaurant.%%%--

An email about restaurants in SF: >"Pakwan" - 3182 16th St (near Guerrero) - cheap and good pakistani-indistani. > >across 16th street (closer to Valencia) is "Truly Mediterranean", awesome shwarmas. > >There is a lot of good vietnamese in SF. Two of my favorites are: "PPQ", Irving and 19th Ave (west of 19th Ave) - this is the Sunset district and I highly recommend a bowl of Pho. "My Canh" is in China town right near the border to North Beach. It's at 626 Broadway near stockton -- it's a bit cheaper than PPQ, but also very good. The have great Bn and rice dishes (and their Pho is great too). > >A MUST MUST visit place is "Burma Superstar". It's not a cheap place, but its definitely not expensive and it will be some of the best food you've ever had -- it is amazing. Near 4th Ave at 309 Clement St. > >And of course, since you'll be in California, many a cheap kick ass taqueria is around to serve you california burritos.
